For as long as I can remember, I’ve been behind the camera, helping people let go and show up as their real, authentic selves.

But stepping in front of the lens myself? That was a whole different story.

Ironically, my first experience in commercial photography was on the other side of the lens—as a model, booked as a “nurse” for a medical brand shoot. The experience was fine, but it made one thing clear: being in front of the camera wasn’t for me. There’s a vulnerability that comes with that spotlight, and I was happy to avoid it.

But, I’ve always believed in the power of a story told in your own words—especially the connection only the storyteller can bring.

So, when it came time to update my website, I knew I couldn’t rely on images and words alone. If I wanted to share the story of my work, I needed to get in front of the camera myself, to speak from the heart about the inspiration behind my approach.

At first, I was nervous. Public speaking—and putting myself out there—has always brought up resistance for me. But as I started talking about my work, something changed. Instead of feeling like a chore, the experience became… fun.

Sometimes, the things holding us back are just internal blocks—the fears and insecurities we build up. And if we lean into them, there might be joy and excitement waiting on the other side.

So here it is—my story, straight from me, about my approach to creating images. If you’re interested, check out the video below.
