Big congrats to Rory McIlroy on completing the career Grand Slam.

Seeing Rory make headlines again brought back a memory from a shoot we did together. I wanted to share a few of the images and a story about what it was like working with him.

I photographed Rory for a Nike Golf campaign. Over the years, I’ve worked with some high-profile people, and not everyone shows up excited to make images. Sometimes, they just want to get through the day.

But Rory was different.

Right after we were introduced, he walked up to me, smiled, and said,
“Hey Henrique, what are we gonna do today?”

He remembered my name and came in ready to collaborate. That kind of openness and energy is one of the best things a photographer can ask for.

It’s not always like that on a commercial shoot. But Rory brought a relaxed, genuine vibe that made the whole experience better.

The photos turned out great, but what really stuck with me was how he made everyone feel. His attitude and presence left an impression.

Here are a few of the shots we made together:

Grateful to have had that experience. And so happy to see Rory finally complete the Grand Slam.
